Sign the Petition - Keep Hillary off the ticket

Sign the petition to keep Hillary off Obama's general election ticket at http://www.nohillaryforvp.com
The petition reads:
We the undersigned respectfully urge Senator Obama not to include Hillary Clinton on a general election ticket when he secures the Democratic nomination for the Presidency of the United States of America. While we have enormous respect for Senator Clinton and her work, we recognize that the change this country requires prohibits us from supporting her as a Vice Presidential candidate. Senator Clinton does not represent the kind of change we need in Washington - and will not help Barack Obama unite the country to tackle the most extreme challenges that face our nation. Two families have occupied seats in the executive branch of the United States government for over 10,000 consecutive days. In order to truly turn the page, it is our belief that Senator Hillary Clinton must be removed from any "short list" for vice presidential consideration.
KEEP CLINTON OFF THE TICKET

Hillary Clinton does not represent our movement or the change we seek. She must not be allowed to become the number two in command of our movement. Sign the petition at http://www.nohillaryforvp.com.
Hillary's supporters are starting to sound the alarm that she deserves to be on the ticket. That somehow Obama's victory shouldn't afford him the same right afforded to all other nominees. HILLARY CLINTON IS NOT OWED ANYTHING. We need to keep her off the ticket. Please sign the petition at http://www.nohillaryforvp.com
Pass it on. Spread the word. Keep Hillary Clinton off Obama's ticket.

This is the number of consecutive days that a Bush or Clinton has been in the executive branch of the United States government. With all the VP conversations about who should be chosen, this fact never seems to be brought up. Why?
If Hillary is the VP, that will ensure two families will have been in the executive branch for 32 years. With Obama winning the primary - face it Hillary, he's won - we all need to understand that she can't be brought in now. This two family rule is part of what we've been fighting.

The lie about a unity ticket
Sat May 10, 2008 at 10:25:19 AM PDT
With each day it becomes clearer Clinton will not win the Democratic nomination, her supporter's desire to maintain some amount of control over the presidential race is seen as they begin to suggest Clinton has somehow "earned" a spot on the general election ticket. This suggestion is another argument from her camp that she somehow "deserves" a role in the executive branch. The argument for a unity ticket however goes against the grain of what many of us have seen anecdotally, misunderstands the movement Obama has created, and inappropriately suggests that having Clinton as a VP could only help.
Clinton Cannot be our VP

I understand this is a hot topic, and therefore my diary may be repetitive, but I hope the importance of this topic allows this repetition in my diary. Clinton is the definition of what the Obama movement has been working against. We cannot now allow the media or anyone else force her on our ticket. While Obama may not want to bring her on - there is speculation that he may feel he has to. In an effort to make our voices heard, a petition has been set up at www.nohillaryforvp.com
Please sign and spread the word. This is our movement - Hillary must not be allowed to force herself on this ticket.
Petition to Keep Hillary Clinton off Obama's General Election Ticket

The speculation has begun, and pundits are wondering whether Senator Obama would, or in some cases should, ask Senator Clinton to be his running mate. The speculation is understandable but ultimately it is Senator Obama's supporters who should have the loudest voice in who becomes the number two in command of our movement.
I have started a petition respectfully requesting that Senator Obama not consider Hillary Clinton as his running mate at www.nohillaryforvp.com
